This California Employee Privacy Notice (the “Notice”) supplements the Flexsteel Privacy Policy and the California consumer rights explained therein. This Notice describes how Flexsteel Industries, Inc. and its affiliates (“Flexsteel” or “we”, “us”, or “our”) collect and process personal information about California residents during the employment application and recruitment process. The types of information we may collect through the employment application and recruitment process includes:
- First name, last name, job applicant account username and password, social security number, drivers' license or other state identification number, and other similar identifying information.
- Physical address(es), email address(es), telephone number(s), and emergency contact.
- Age, gender, race, and where applicable and in accordance with applicable law, your ethnicity, disability, military status, or criminal history.
- Schools attended, degrees or certifications earned, grades, disciplinary records, or other education records and information.
- Your current and former employers, job title(s), and position(s).
- Application information including what position you applied for, when you applied, and how you applied.
II. How We Collect Information About California Applicants
We collect the information listed in Section I directly from California Applicants when they provide it through their job application and resumé, communications, and the interview process and when they complete forms and surveys as part of the hiring and employment process. We may also collect this information from third parties such as recruiters, employment agencies, placement services, your references, and our job applicant portal vendor.
III. How We Use Information about California Applicants
We use the information we collect from California Applicants to:
- consider them for current and potential future employment or engagement opportunities;
- evaluate and corroborate their employment applications;
- schedule interviews and communicate with them about their applications;
- comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal process;
- maintain records of our interactions and communications;
- as permitted by law;
- to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, or that of our employees or other parties; and
- for any other purposes with the consent of the California applicants.
If you accept an offer of employment, the information obtained through the application and recruitment process will become part of your employment record and used for employment-related purposes subject to applicable law.
We may share some of the personal information with third-party vendors as necessary for us to consider a particular job applicant for employment. Such vendors could include the entity that hosts our job applicant portal.
